The photos you'll need

A valuation reads your bag's identity and its real condition. Take these in good light, filling the frame.

  • Front

The whole bag, straight on, filling the frame.

  • Back

    The reverse side, straight on.

  • Blindstamp / date stamp

Sharp close-up of the heat stamp — the letter/shape in a circle or square.

  • Hardware

Close-up of the lock, keys, turn-key and feet — condition matters to value.

  • Corners & wear

The four corners and any scuffs, so the value reflects real condition.

  • Interior (if applicable)

Inside the bag, including any interior stamp.

Common questions

What exactly do I get?

A formal value document — a certificate stating an estimated market value for your bag, prepared and issued by Vaultik, an independent valuer, in their own name. It's the paper version of the free on-screen estimate you can already get here.

Who issues the document?

Vaultik — an independent valuation service. Orange Peel takes your order, photos and payment, submits to Vaultik, and delivers their document. We never author or white-label the valuation.

Can I give this to my insurer?

It's a formal third-party value document you can share with a buyer, a consignment shop, or your insurer. Whether a specific insurer accepts it is between you and them — we don't claim it's 'insurance-approved.'

How is this different from the free estimate?

The on-screen number here is free forever — it's our read from community-reported data. The valuation is the formal, dated document from a named third party. Screen number = free. Paper = the product.

What happens to my photos?

Your photos are used only for this valuation: they are deleted 180 days after it closes, or 30 days from your last edit if you never submit it. Optional, and off unless you tick it. Leave it unticked and your photos are deleted on the normal schedule: 180 days after this order closes, or 30 days from your last edit if you never submit it. You may keep my photos as a reference example of this bag specification (model, size, leather, colour, hardware) in Orange Peel's private reference library. My name, email and order are never attached to them, they are never published as mine, and I can ask you to delete them at any time.

Orange Peel arranges the valuation; the document is prepared and issued by Vaultik in their own name. We do not claim it is 'insurance-approved.' The free on-screen estimate stays free. Orange Peel is an independent publication, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Hermès.
